Record-Breaking Terms now Available for Zero Per Cent Interest Deals

Barclaycard has just shot to the top of the ratings on price comparison websites with the introduction of its new zero per cent interest deal for existing balance transfers.

From tomorrow (March 18 2011) new customers in the UK will be able to apply for a Barclaycard Platinum Card, which gives twenty months interest-free credit on balances switched over from other cards.

In order to qualify for this card you will need a minimum annual income of £20,000, and of course, a healthy credit rating.

This record-breaking deal comes hard on the heels of the
announcement of eighteen months zero per cent interest offers from MBNA and Virgin Money.  These deals matched Barclaycard’s previous zero per cent offer, displacing it from the top slot in the best buy rankings due to the lower setup fees.

Thanks to the new twenty month deal, Barclaycard are right back at the top of the comparison site charts again.

Anyone thinking of switching an existing balance over to one of these cards may do well to hang on for a few days to see what  the next move from Virgin Money, MBNA or other credit providers will be.  Could this be the start of a zero per cent credit card war?
